Q: I have no urge to urinate iam worried some advice please?
Well i have had a few pints of water today and when i went to the toilet i only lost about 250ml that afte going twice with a small amount lost and one where i lost 150ml.
Whats worrying me is i dont feel as if i need to go the toilet iam not getting the urge too. Is this because my bladder isnt full or because something is not right.
I have not long had a rigid cystoscopy and iam on Tamsulosin Hydrochloride. Does urinary retention mean that you get the urge to go the toilet but you cant or does it mean that you dont get the urge to urinate at all.
I have had a pint of water iam on another and the last time i went was about 3pm i havent been or had the urge to go since.
I was also diagnosed with a moderately tight bladder neck by the urologist which is why iam on meds.
A: As you are under a urologist and on medication connected with urinary problems, I would think the best thing is to speak to your doctor. Phone him and see if he can talk to you over the phone if you can’t find the time to make an appointment
Q: harnal ocas 4 mg and cardura 4 mg xl.?
3 months ago i had a prostrate biopsy, the doctor then put me on harnal ocas 4mg tablets but i also take cardura 4mg xl i have been taking cardura for 5 years for high blood pressure and prostrate problems but i find now that taking these two tablets together is not advisable as cardura being doxasosin, and harnal being tamsulosin can anyone advise me what to take with harnal if i leave off cardura,OR what can i take with cardura 4 mg xl if i leave off the harnal ocas,i would prefer to keep taking cardura but i dont know what tablet is safe to take with it.
I do find that the harnal is a better tablet for passing urine and i think it is a new generation tablet, but i need something to control my blood pressure,i,m confused at the moment, thankyou for any information .
A: Tamsulosin and doxazosin are both drugs used in BPH and,as you say, doxazosin is also used as an anti-hypertensive. Theoretically at least there is no contraindication to taking both drugs. However though Tamsulosin is not sold as a BP drug, it may also lower your blood pressure, so this would need to be monitored.
